Data storage is the basic task of any CRM system. Structured in tables, presented in dozens and hundreds of views, they are a daily challenge for the end user. The new functionality of Microsoft Dynamics 365 system – the column editor, allows you to make everyday work with views in CRM more pleasant and easier.

A view, list, table, no matter what the name of this element of our CRM system is, it is always about one thing – displaying the necessary information in the most accessible, aggregated and organized way. For this purpose, we get a number of the above-mentioned lists, lists in which their creators often miss the information we need to work on a daily basis. And in the Customer view prepared by the administrators, there is no industry column or the stock symbol is missing and so on and so on.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 enables a simple and quick solution to this problem. Add fields to views immediately. Now, each user can customize EVERY view available in the system, regardless of what table it refers to. It does not require, as in many systems (and until recently in Microsoft Dynamics 365), laborious building of views from scratch. On the contrary, we get a convenient column editor, thanks to which we can find the information necessary for us from among all the fields available in a table.

The column editor is therefore another tool that saves our users’ time, and above all increases adoption and improves the work efficiency of our CRM. Seemingly small functionality, but in the context of everyday “struggles” with the system, it really makes a difference.

Attention! The column editor is part of new Microsoft Dynamics 365 update: 2021 Release Wave 2. To be able to use it, you must enable functionalities from the new pool in your environment.
