#OutOfTheBoxCRM #25 "Hidden" dashboards in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales

One of the most enjoyable moments of working with the application, that you use on a daily basis, is the discovery of a super-secret function in it. Something your coworkers didn’t know, even the ones who have been using CRM for years. Today I’m going to show you a quick trick, that comes out of the box from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, i.e. automatically generated “hidden” dashboards.

Each of us, who has ever used any CRM application, knows perfectly well, that after logging into the system we will be transferred to the dashboard and then we will be able to continue our work from there. We can choose dashboards from the list of predefined system dashboards or create them ourselves, which will also be displayed on the list of available dashboards.

What if I told you, that these are not all the dashboards you can generate in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales? What if there is still a “hidden” way to prepare a complementary report, based on views and charts, which you can freely filter and obtain interesting data on the selected area in your CRM system?

Dynamics 365 Sales provides this opportunity. As part of the view of selected tables, there is an option to create a “dynamic” dashboard, built on the basis of views and charts available for a specific group of information. All you need to do is click into the selected view of Customers, Contacts, Sales Opportunities or Potential Customers, and then you will find the “Open dashboards” button. The system will automatically generate an interactive report based on the data of the table we are interested in. The report will allow you to filter based on dates, generate charts (and filter views based on them), or add active filters based on the most popular fields on a given table.

The value of these reports is obvious. With just a few clicks, we generate an advanced statement of the status of our Sales Opportunities, the condition of our customers or the number of contacts along with basic information. All of this with absolutely minimal effort. Plus, with great satisfaction in finding a “hidden” feature!
