Dynamics 365 components – Part 1

Dynamics CRM is now Dynamics for Sales!

We covered Dynamics CRM functionality in one of our first post on this blog. Dynamics for Sales does not differ much from Dynamics CRM. The main purpose of Dynamics for Sales is to provide users with possibility to manage leads and customers. The module consists of two components: Sales and Marketing.

Sales

Sales component helps you manage your customers (contacts) and companies (accounts) and the execution of sales process (managing sales opportunities, quotes and orders) – we covered that in How CRM will help you at work? With Sales you can easily manage your product list and price list – you can create a hierarchy between products by combining them in families and bundles.

Marketing

Unfortunately, Marketing in Dynamics 365 does not differ from what it was in previous versions of the system. As for now, it is based on marketing lists – lists of customers based on the data stored in the system. Based on the marketing list, users may send emails (individually or in bulk), create email templates – both static (constant content) and dynamic (personalized content based on contact/account data), create a campaign (that consist of different activities delegated to team members) and monitor the output of campaigns and the budged spent.

What will you get?

Are you pondering what will be the value added? Imagine getting to work in the morning. You get your coffee, talk to your co-workers about daily events and sit in front of your computer. You log in to Dynamics for Sales and at 9 a.m. you know:

  • You have a meeting in 3 days with customer from Berlin that you have to prepare for,
  • The company received three email from leads demanding product samples,
  • How much you have to sell this month to gain a bonus,
  • What was the response to the latest marketing campaign.

It is all at your fingertips. Dynamics for Sales lets you manage your goals, monitor your tasks and contacts with clients, manage your team and delegate task. And foremost, it collects data. No more lost emails (as long as you integrate your mailbox with Dynamics 365). No more lost data about clients who purchased an item 5 years ago. And you will never forget you have an important phone call with customer.

So, in the morning you will get to your computer and see that, if your Berlin client decides to buy your product and you succeed in offering him a complementary product, you will get your best salesman bonus at the end of the month. And the co-worker sitting next to you will have to admit you are better – third month in a row!

Unfortunately, one of the leads asked for a product no longer available. Fortunately, the system will suggest you a substitute to offer. All you need to do is to write an email (preferably using an already prepared template) informing the client that the sample is not available and you can send him another one – as good as the missing one.

What about the campaign? It was more efficient than you assumed at the beginning. You even got few hot leads. Now, you must delegate task between your team and contact new leads, prepare a quote, talk about their needs. And maybe you will get another bonus?

Work at the Sales Dept. has become as easy as pie.

Next on: we will show you what to do when you get a complaint or a case from your customer using Dynamics 365 for Customer Service.
